George Mason University’s College of Health and Human Services is proud to announce AARP as a platinum sponsor for its Honoring Mason Nurses: Past, Present, and Future event, part of Mason’s 50th anniversary celebration.

The event will recognize the achievements and impact of Mason’s School of Nursing graduates and all they do to support the health and well-being of Northern Virginia residents and beyond. The College and AARP share a dedication to public health and ensuring a health workforce pipeline. “We are incredibly grateful to AARP for their leadership in recognizing Mason nurses,” said Germaine Louis, dean of the College of Health and Human Services. “Our School of Nursing’s academic excellence and committed faculty ensure career ready graduates who can deliver and promote health for all in their care. Mason nurses comprise much of the health workforce across Northern Virginia, and we are proud of all they do for our region.”

The Honoring Mason Nurses celebration is on April 28, 2022 at the Country Club of Fairfax. Ticket information is available at chhs.gmu.edu/honoring-mason-nurses. We welcome all graduates and friends of the School of Nursing.

The College will recognize a Mason nurse of distinction in the following categories: the Outstanding Nurse Champion Award, the Outstanding Nurse Innovation Award, and the Outstanding Public Health Nurse Award.

As a title sponsor for the College’s 2018 Tribute to a Brigadier General Hazel Johnson-Brown, this new sponsorship reflects AARP’s continuing commitment to the College.
