Mason Center for Health Workforce
Leading Virginia Health Workforce Initiatives
The Center for Health Workforce at George Mason University is a faculty-led, university-supported center focused on strengthening Virginia’s health workforce through strategic planning, data-driven decision-making, and cross-sector collaboration. The Center plays a central role in coordinating health workforce initiatives across all nine GO Virginia regions, with a focus on addressing regional needs and supporting long-term workforce sustainability.
The Center works closely with regional partnerships, educational institutions, employers, and state agencies to align training programs with local demand, expand access to health career pathways, and support the development of a diverse and resilient workforce. Through applied research, technical assistance, and statewide convenings, the Center helps regions implement actionable strategies to address workforce shortages, improve pipeline coordination, and prepare for future health system needs.
