Virginia Health Workforce Analysis Dashboard

The Mason Center for Health Workforce provides data and information relevant to health workforce planning and analysis. It includes measures to assess:

  • the health needs of state and regional populations
  • employer demand/needs for health, behavioral health, and social services workers to support those needs; and
  • the education and training pipeline producing new entrants for health, behavioral health, and social services occupations

Workforce Supply

and Distribution

Estimates the distribution and demographics of health, behavioral health, public health, and social services professionals and the capacity of and graduates from training and education programs.

Workforce Demand

Job Growth and Outlook

Estimates of workforce demand are based on outlooks for job growth, annual openings, and reports from employers on vacancies, turnover, and time to fill positions in their organizations.

Population Health

and Economic Conditions

Demographic characteristics of the population, indicators of community health status, and multi-sector infrastructure and resources for health, behavioral health, public health, and other relevant resources.
